On the 22nd of April (in conjunction with Dive for Earth Day), Diving Townsville held its kick off event, a pool party screening of “The End of the Line”, a great new movie highlighting the plight of the world’s fisheries. Proceeds went to the Sea Turtle Foundation, and David and Julie were on hand to tell us a little about the foundation and what else we could do to help the turtles. Unfortunately the weather was not very cooperative and the pool party side of things did not go so well (thanks Buffy for being game enough to actually get in the water!). The movie screening however went swimmingly (pun intended). Everyone who came along to watch it took something away and there were some good discussions afterward as to how we as ambassadors for the underwater realm could help. The evening was also a great chance for divers from all over Townsville to meet up with others who shared their passion for the ocean.
A great big thank you again to Adrenalin Dive who donated the use of their pool and also to everyone who turned up to support us!
