This Week in Diving – 7/2/2011
Bubbles from the past
This last week in diving has been a rough one with Cyclone Yasi hitting North Queensland hard. A few areas around town are still without power, not to mention tremendous damage to property in the Mission Beach, Cardwell, Tully and El Arish regions. So it’s no surprise that there was not a lot of diving last week.
We are however about to posted up skipper Craig’s dive report from before the cyclone, so it you need a break from the clean-up, drop by tomorrow for a read.
Something to wet your appetite
The wind has died down a little this week with 15-20 knots during the week dying down to 10-15 knots on the weekend, however, it is forecasted to be a rainy weekend. Splash Watersport has a trip going out on Wednesday with a few spots remaining. For those looking for something more romantic, Salt dive is organising a Valentine’s day dive for 5 couples. Adrenalin dive and Yongala dive should also be up and running again, although as far as we know, Remote Area Dive still does not have power at their shop and roads up north remain dangerous so their trips are cancelled until further notice.
Please call individual shops to find out their latest trip details.
